The Auckland Offroad Racing Club was formed in 2004 from two existing Offroad Racing clubs - Auckland Buggy Club and Western Districts Offroad Racing Club. Our main goal is to promote the sport of offroad racing under the umbrella of our parent body ORANZ (Offroad Racing Association of New Zealand). We race on natural formed terrain, gravel roads and man made dirt circuits.
Auckland Offroad Racing Club is a club of Champions. Our membership boasts the largest number of National Championship title holders and winners of significant races than any other Offroad Racing club in New Zealand. As well as being a home of champions, our club is also the host club for New Zealands most iconic Offroad Races. Every year the Auckland Offroad Racing Club hosts the Woodhill 100, a 170km race through the Woohill Forest which has been raced annually for over 30 years. Every second year the Auckland Offroad Racing Club is the host club for the running of the Taupo 1000. the Taupo 1000 is a two day, 1000km international race through the Kaiangaroa Forest near Taupo. A large field of competitors from New Zealand and overseas compete in this event to win one of the longest races in the Southern Hemisphere.
